Couple electrocuted near Perambalur in Tamil Nadu

TRICHY: A 60-year-old farmer and his 52-year-old wife were electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric fence in their maize field near Perambalur on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Periyasamy of Krishnapuram village and his wife, Malarkodi.
Periyasamy had electrified the fence around his field to safeguard his crops from wild animals.
While irrigating the crops on Thursday, Periyasamy accidentally fell over the fence.Malarkodi, who tried to save him was also electrocuted.
The Kai Kalathur police were investigating.
