Uttar Pradesh: Youth accused of sexual harassment dies in police custody in Shravasti, kin allege murder

LUCKNOW: A 22-year-old youth Wajid Ali died in police custody in Shravasti district on Friday.
The kin of deceased alleged that Ali was deliberately killed for not giving the said amount of money demanded by cops.
However, acting on the allegations of kin six cops were suspended including SHO of Gilola police station area.
Superintendent of police, Shravasti, Anup Singh, told TOI that an FIR under the charges of murder has been written against cops on the basis of allegations of the kin of deceased and a probe by DySP has been ordered.

Police had detained Ali on Monday on allegations of sexual harrasment.
On Friday, cops claimed that Ali had gone to drink water and later hanged himself from the ceiling of the kitchen with a cloth tied around his neck.
