Bihar: Eight Maoists arrested in Munger, detonators, arms and ammunition seized

PATNA: Munger police with help of special task force nabbed eight Maoists from jungles near village Bhainsa Kol under Kharagpur police station area on wee hours of Saturday and seized huge amount of arms and ammunition along with detonators and fuse wires from them.
Munger SP Lipi Singh said that the arrested Maoists were Dablu Chuarasia alias Nityanand Chaurasia, Punit Mandal, Bambam Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Kare Khaira, Bheem Turi, Shambhu Turi and Sunil Turi.

Singh said that around 300 rounds for use in multiple firearms mainly self-loading rifle (SLR), AK-47, INSAS and .303 rifle were seized from their possession.
“Besides, a regular .303 rifle used by police, a .22 bore rifle, one musket, two country made pistols including one 9mm, 220 meters of fuse wire, 21 detonators were recovered from their possession.,” she said.
“They were actually planning some attack and all seized items were to be handed over to an CPI (Maoist) area commander Bahadur Koda,” she said.
SP said Dablu and Punit were main persons active in Maoist violence since last two decades. “Rest were their relatives and associates. Dablu and Punit were responsible for supplying arms, ammunition, logistics to Maoists and collecting levy for party,” she said.
She said the duo were close associates of notorious and wanted Maoist leader Pravesh Da. SP said Dablu’s sister-in-law Kavita Devi is sitting mukhiya of West Patam panchayat. “His wife was also a former mukhiya. Due to this, no villagers raised voice against him,” she said.
