Coronavirus cases in the city of Mumbai have decreased over the last few days, however, the count has seen a rise in other cities of Maharashtra. As of September 3, 2020, coronavirus cases in Mumbai crossed 1.5-lakh mark, with 1,50,095 cases. A total of 1,526 new cases and 37 deaths were reported on Thursday. Till date, 7,764 patients from Mumbai have died due to coronavirus.
The state health department report shows that four divisions in the state have more than one lakh COVID-19 cases. Pune division tops the chart with 2,23,215 cases, followed by Mumbai, Thane and Nashik. As of Thursday, Maharashtra had 8,43,844 cases out of which 2,05,428 are active cases. Further, more than 6-lakh patients have recovered from the viral infection and 25,586 deaths have been reported due to coronavirus.
Around 13,988 patients were treated for the infection in one day, and a total of 6,12,484 patients have been cured in the state, taking the recovery rate to 72.58 per cent. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that the state, on Thursday, had 18,105 new cases and currently, more than 2-lakh patients are receiving treatment in different parts of Maharashtra.
Officials have also tested 43,72,697 samples till date, out of which 19.29 per cent have tested positive. Among the total cases, 14,27,316 patients are home quarantined and 36,745 patients are in the institutional quarantine centres.
