Immanuel Sekaran death anniversary: Tasmac liquor shops to remain closed in parts of Virudhunagar district on Sept 11

MADURAI: Virudhunagar district collector R Kannan has announced that Tasmac liquor shops in Rajapalayam, Tiruchuzhi, Sattur and Sivakasi taluks will remain closed on September 11 in view of the death anniversary of dalit leader Immanuel Sekaran.
These taluks are located on the route to Immanuel Sekaran’s memorial at Paramakudi, in Ramanathapuram district.
Tasmac shops in other places in the district would also have to close immediately if police order them to do so in the event of any law and order issue, the collector said.
