The Ba football team have moved to second place in the Vodafone Premier League points table after beating Navua 3-0 at the Uprising Fiji Beach Resort ground in Pacific Harbour, Deuba, yesterday.

Ba have 19 points and are now behind leaders Rewa who have 20.

The Ravinesh Karan Singh captained- Suva side will need to beat Lautoka today if they are to stay in contention for the top spot.

What happened: It was a dull first half as both teams failed to score.

The visitors were trying to adapt to the ground surface and could not connect their passes.

Halftime: Navua 0-0 Ba

Ba came alive in the second spell with midfielder Abbu Zahid scoring the first goal in the 58th minute.

Ba kept on the pressure and in the 69th minute lanky defender Mitieli Naiviro headed in the second goal from a corner kick.

Savenaca Nakalevu slotted in Ba’s third goal in the 84th minute.
