Woman, daughter drown in Narmada

Vadodara: Three persons of a family living in Bhimpura village in Dabhoi taluka were swept away in the gushing waters of Narmada river on Sunday. One of them was rescued by local boatmen.
According to police, Sonal Vasava (30), her 14-year-old daughter Kiran and nine-year-old nephew Jatin had gone for a dip in the river at the ghats of Yamhas Tirth near Chandod on Sunday.

As the river has swelled and is in spate due to monsoon, the trio was dragged away.
While Jatin was saved by boatmen, Sonal and Kiran disappeared in water.
Local sources said that boatmen and swimmers searched for the mother-daughter duo till evening, but they could not be found. The search will be resumed on Monday morning.
