While attending nature’s call in his toilet, Nihar Ranjan Barik of Odisha’s Ekachalia village saw a small tail hanging from the exhaust fan which he thought belonged to a house lizard. When he used a torch light to see inside fan's chamber, he heard a loud hissing sound of a Cobra. The man and his brother called snake helpline to rescue the cobra. A volunteer of snake helpline reached the spot and tried to open the covering case of the exhaust fan. As soon as he removed the fan cover, a 4-feet-long cobra came out with a raised hood. It took few minutes for the rescuer to divert the attention of cobra. The cobra was taken out of the toilet with the help of a snake hook. The cobra was put into a bag and released far away from human settlement in its natural habitat.
