Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, is with the Mumbai Indians squad in UAE for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The young allrounder is obviously with the team not as a player but as a net bowler, most probably.

The franchise or even Arjun Tendulkar had not spoken about it before and his presence was revealed only after he put up a story on his Instagram profile. The 20-year old, on Monday, put up a picture from the hotel in Abu Dhabi where he could be seen enjoying in the swimming pool with the likes of Trent Boult, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar and others.

Arjun Tendulkar is not new to training with big teams. During the 2017 Women’s World Cup, he had bowled to Team India ahead of their final against England. In the same year, he had nearly injured England batsman Jonny Bairstow with a yorker in the nets and had also bowled to Team India in the nets at the Wankhede Stadium.

Here is the story put on Instagram by Arjun Tendulkar:

Son of cricket’s most decorated batsman, Arjun Tendulkar is trying to find his feet in the game. He is yet to play for Mumbai’s senior team or Team India but has represented both the teams in age-group cricket.

He earned his maiden and only India U19 call-up in 2018 but was not eligible for this year’s U19 World Cup because of his age. Later in November in the same year, he had impressed in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The left-arm pacer had bagged the figures of 5/30 to help Mumbai thrash Gujarat by 9 wickets.

He had also taken 3 for just 14 runs off seven overs in Mumbai’s 10-wicket win over Assam. In that same month, he had taken six wickets for 70 runs while playing for Vijay Merchant XI against Vijay Manjrekar XI in the KC Mahindra Shield U-19 tournament. Arjun Tendulkar, in fact, has been doing well for the last two years or so. In the 2017-18 Cooch Behar Trophy, he had picked up 19 wickets in five matches, including two five-wicket hauls for Mumbai U19.

Last year, Arjun Tendulkar had made it to Mumbai’s U23 side as well. Earlier this year, he was named in Mumbai’s U23 Col. CK Nayudu Trophy too. Meanwhile, IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19 with Mumbai Indians locking horns against Chennai Super Kings in the tournament-opener.
