TWO new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Winchester district in the last 24 hours
The number of new infections in Hampshire has increased by 12 in the last day, the second smallest increase in more than a week.
There were 5,627 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in the Hampshire County Council area as of 4pm today, up from 5,615, reported on Sunday.
No new deaths have been reported locally.
The number of confirmed cases in Winchester area is at 530, up two on Sunday, with a rate of 424.5 per 100,000 people.
The rate of infection in Hampshire stands at 407.0 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average, shown this evening as 569.2.
Today there have now been 371,125 cases of the virus across the UK – an increase of 2,621 in the last 24 hours.
The number of deaths in Hampshire hospitals remains at 608.
The figure for fatal cases at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which includes the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, is 161, the same since June 29. The figures for the other local county trusts are Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust, 230; Solent NHS Trust, 2; Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, 17; University Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, 198.
Nationally, a further nine people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 41,637, according to the ONS website updated late at 6.30pm this evening.
