With Mumbai experiencing a surge in cases of coronavirus, a shortage of beds has been reported in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) for the critically ill patients which require beds with artificial respiration equipment.

As per reports, only 67 beds with artificial respiration are vacant. The BMC had earlier tried to increase the number of ICU beds with the help of private hospitals.
