Uttar Pradesh: BJP MLC on way to Gorakhpur injured in road accident in Faizabad

LUCKNOW: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Devendra Pratap Singh was injured in a road accident while on the way to reach Gorakhpur on Thursday. Singh has been admitted to KGMU Trauma centre in Lucknow and is critical.
DIG/SSP Ayodhya, Deepak Kumar told mediapersons that MLC Singh in his SUV was on the way to Gorakhpur from Lucknow.
“Around 3.15 pm, Singh along with his associates was going via NH-28 to Gorakhpur.On the way he stopped to have tea in Belsanda village. In the meantime, a person identified as Maniram riding a bike hit the MLC from behind under Rudauli police station area,” said Kumar.
Later, the passers-by took him to a private hospital in Rudauli from where he was referred to KGMU Trauma center in Lucknow.
Kumar also said that Maniram was a native of Runahi police station area.
