Actress Kangana Ranaut had to delete her tweets after India Today Group's Marathi web channel Mumbai Tak pointed out some factual errors in the actress's claims. In an interview to an English News Channel, Kangana Ranaut had claimed that 'she was forced to vote for Shiv Sena' as the BJP was in alliance with the party.

Mumbai Tak fact-checked Kangana's claims and reported that the actress did have the option to vote for BJP, contrary to her statement.

As per the details accessed by Mumbai Tak on the Election rolls on Maharashtra state Election commission's site, Kangana Ranaut is enrolled as a voter from the Bandra West constituency.

In 2019 Vidhan Sabha elections, BJP's Ashish Shelar was the candidate from the BJP - Shivsena alliance. The saffron parties had contested the elections in alliance. Also, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena contested the elections together.

BJP's Poonam Mahajan contested from the Mumbai North Central seat. The Bandra West Assembly seat is part of the Mumbai North Central Loksabha constituency.

On the other hand, in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena contested the elections together and Poonam Mahajn contested against Congress's Priya Dutt. However, in 2014 Assembly Elections, the BJP and Shivsena fought against each other.

After Mumbai Tak busted the actress's claims, an angry Kangana Ranaut threatened to take legal action and sending the reporter to jail.

However, with the facts in place and netizens calling out the actress for her skewed claims, Kangana Ranaut deleted the tweets.
