Property worth Rs 16 crore of
zila panchayat president Ram Pravesh Yadav was confiscated by the Deoria district administration and police on Friday.
Yadav was first booked under gangster’s act last month. He was accused of kidnapping one Deepak Mani and forcefully getting a land deed worth Rs 10 crore registered in his own name in 2018, other cases included that of dishonesty, fraudulently taking over a
land property also in 2018.

Amit Kishore, told TOI that acting on the directions of the UP CM for
initiating action against
criminals we first registered a case of gangster against the former panchayat president and later on the report of SP Deoria issued order to confiscate the illegal properties of Yadav.
Superintendent of police, Deoria, Shripati Mishra who initiated action said that there were multiple complaints by villagers against Yadav of forcefully taking away land property of individuals based on which an enquiry was conducted.
On the basis of which a land worth Rs 11 crore, another house and its land worth Rs 53 lakh in Deoria khaas, Jai Maa Amethi brick field worth Rs 62 lakh, Poultry farm also in Deoria khaas village worth Rs 2.60 crore and vehicles worth Rs 44 lakh were confiscated, said the SP. In the last one month, Deoria police has confiscated properties of top four criminals worth around 25 crore.
