Uttar Pradesh: Son killed, father shot at by relative in Jaunpur

VARANASI: A youth Osama was killed while his father Ishtiyaq suffered grave injuries when their relative Tariq opened indiscriminate fire in old business dispute in Bharauli village under the limits of Shahganj police station in Jaunpur district on Saturday. The video of incident also went viral on social media.
SP Jaunpur Raj Karan Nayyar said that following exchange of heated works and altercation with Ishtiyaq and Osama their relative Tariq took out his father’s licensed pistol and opened indiscriminate fire.
Two teams had been engaged for early arrest of Tariq, he added.
Reports stated that in their old business related dispute Tariq quarreled with Ishtiyaq. Later, he took out his father’s pistols. When Tariq was loading his pistol to attack Mushtaq his son Osama tried to intervene to save his father. However, Tariq opened fire in which Osama suffered bullet injuries in stomach and fell on ground. Later, Tariq opened fire on Ishtiyaq also and fled the scene.
Injured father and son were immediately rushed to a local hospital where doctors referred them to district hospital, said Nayyar. However, on reaching district hospital Osama was declared brought dead. Condition of Ishtiyaq was critical. Their family lodged a named FIR against Tariq and his other family members.
During initial investigation of police in this case it came to light that Tariq and Osama were running travel agencies in Mumbai. During lockdown both of them had returned Jaunpur and to look after their trade they visited Mumbai occasionally by personal vehicles, said police adding they had old trade rivalry which took ugly shape on Saturday resulting this incident. Cops said that raids are continuing at all possible hideouts of Tariq and other accused persons while their family members were also being interrogated by police.
