IMD announces red alert in Karnataka's Malnad regions

MYSURU: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced red alert on Monday at 8.30 am and orange alert on Monday and Tuesday in Malnad regions - Kodagu, Chikkamagalur, Hassan and Shivamogga districts.
According to IMD, widespread moderate to heavy rains at most places with isolated very heavy to extremely heavy rains likely over Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Hassan districts till Monday morning.
All the district administrations are on high alert following the IMD forecast.
Rain expected to continue in the southern districts of the state and up to moderate rains likely over Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamrajanagara districts.
Mysuru city witnessed a light shower on Saturday afternoon and cloudy weather.
