Liverpool have confirmed the arrival of Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jota has departed Molineux for a fee believed to be in the region of £45 million.

The Portugal international becomes Liverpool's second arrival in as many days after the arrival of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich yesterday.

It is the second transfer confirmed between the two sides today. with defender Ki Jana-Hoever joining Wolves for around £13.5m today.

Jota has left Wolves after three full seasons with Nuno Espirito Santo's side and 44 goals in 131 appearances for the club.

The former Atletico Madrid man will likely not be replaced by Nuno, with Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto instead filling in for Jota.

He will now link up with Jurgen Klopp's Premier League champions as they look to defend their first title in 30 years.

"He's a player who gives us so many options to use him," Klopp said, "he's 23 years old, still far away from being kind of a finished article, so much potential.

"He has the speed, he can combine, can defend, can press.

"It makes it just more unpredictable and gives us real options for different systems because he can play pretty much all three positions up front in a 4-3-3, if we play with four midfielders he can play both wings.

"So, these kinds of things. It's just nice.

"And he has some natural things which we have in our game, like this desire and the greed and the direction."
