The Indianapolis Colts made starting cornerback Rock Ya-Sin inactive for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Ya-Sin did not appear on the Colts injury report this week. However, a team spokesman confirmed to IndyStar that Ya-Sin came down with an illness and was made inactive on game day. The team released a statement saying Ya-Sin has a stomach illness and is being evaluated at a local hospital.

He was not placed on the reserve/Covid-19 list.

Ya-Sin missed only one game last year with an injury, making 13 starts. In his stead Sunday, the Colts will likely turn to veteran T.J. Carrie to start opposite ex-Viking Xavier Rhodes. Ya-Sin played 46 of the team's 50 defensive snaps in the opener.

Joining Ya-Sin on the inactive list were defensive tackle Eli Ankou, third-string quarterback Jacob Eason, rookie wide receiver Dezmon Patmon, linebacker E.J. Speed and starting tight end Jack Doyle (knee, ankle).

Colts coach Frank Reich ruled Doyle out on Friday, stretching the Colts thin at tight end. In response, the team activated undrafted free agent Farrod Green. He will serve as the third tight end behind starter Mo Alie-Cox and reserve Noah Togiai.
