The exhibition is on till October 15 at gallery g. Art lovers are requested to make an appointment before visiting the gallery. The artworks are impactful, luminous painted renditions of Hindu deities.
The paintings are characterised by vibrant colours, fine lines and intricate detailing on brass. A unique innovation, the paintings on brass involve transferring and then etching contemporary and traditional subjects on brass sheets. A multi stage process, it requires remarkable dexterity to ensure that the colours are separated during application and remain distinct. The paints that are used are special stoving enamels / UV paints which are mixed to achieve desired colours.
Dinesh Magar’s work spans a range of media and themes - intricate pen and ink drawings, paintings on brass, sculptures and mixed media on canvas. As an artist, Dinesh has extensively worked with intricate pen and ink drawings, brass paintings and sculptures, abstract paintings and several mixed media. His paintings on brass explore mythological themes which are etched on brass sheets, hand painted and fired in a furnace. Spiritual paintings and paintings on brass are produced under the umbrella of Karunathma Fine Art. These are signed and numbered, and are available as limited edition art.
