Telangana records 1,302 new Covid-19 cases, 9 deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Monday recorded 1,302 new Covid-19 cases and 9 deaths. With this the total number of cases now stands at 1,72,608 while the total Covid-19 deaths in the state till date are 1,042. So far 1,41,930 patients have recovered and there are 29,636 active cases currently.
The case fatality rate which is a measure of the number patients succumbing to the virus when compared to the total number of infected patients, is currently at 0.60 percent in the state, as compared to 1.60 percent in the country.A low case fatality rate means lower number of Covid-19 patients dying.
The recovery rate which represents the percentage of patients affected with the virus, having recovered from it, is on the increase in the state. It is currently 82.22 percent as compared to 79.87 percent in the country.
Testing dropped to 31,092 from over 53,000 a day back. Of the 31,092 samples tested, 13,682 were of primary contacts and 3,712 were of secondary contacts, while the remaining were of new suspected cases.
Among districts the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 266 new cases of Covid-19. This was followed by 102 cases in Karimnagar, 98 cases in RangaReddy, 92 cases in Siddipet, 62 cases in Warangal Urban and 50 cases in Nizamabad.
