NEW DELHI:
Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Monday clarified that all political, social, religious, sports, entertainment, cultural and other related activities are prohibited throughout Delhi till September 30. The clarification was issued after
Delhi Police sought to know on September 16 about the position with regards to political functions planned in Delhi.
Referring to the letter of Delhi Police legal cell, DDMA additional chief executive officer Rajesh Goyal on Monday stated that social, academic, entertainment, sports, cultural, religious, political functions and other gatherings remain prohibited till September 30.
Marriage-related gatherings are restricted to maximum 50 persons and funeral and last rites-related gathering to 20 persons.
Indian Youth Congress has planned to gherao Parliament on Tuesday against the Centre for passing farm bills and over unemployment. “The bills are against the farmers who are the backbone of our country,” said BV Srinivas, Indian Youth Congress president adding “Covid norms will be followed during the protest.”
Delhi Police on Monday clarified on Twitter that demonstrations cannot be allowed in the city till September 30.
Meanwhile, several Congress workers led by Delhi Congress chief
Chaudhary Anil Kumar held a demonstration near the Parliament on Monday.
