New pictures have emerged of the eerie castle location that is set to host the next series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

ITV bosses announced earlier this year that the celebrity show will be held at Gwrych Castle in Wales for the first time in history.

Set to be aired in November, the spooky UK location is a far cry from the hot Australian jungle that the stars are so used to.

While work got underway on the towering new location, workers managed to enter a room that had belonged to the Countess of Dundonald, Winifred Cochrane.

The room, which no-one has entered for 35 years, offers spectacular views of the expansive castle and the gorgeous woodland further away.

Sharing the rare snaps on the location's Twitter feed, the images look out from a set of gothic windows across the property.

Builders were also able to get some snaps from inside the gutted-out fortress.

"During the emergency works we got a rare chance to look around the Countess’s bedroom," the post explained.

"This is the first time in nearly 35 years that someone has looked out from the window (that isn’t a ghost!) #gwyrchcastle #abergele #conwy #northwales #imacelebrity #imaceleb."

The spirit of countess, who died in 1923, is said to haunt the building alongside her "tyrannical husband" the Earl of Dundonald.

Gwrch Castle also offered lots of ghost tours before it was settled as the upcoming I'm A Celebrity location.

According to the site, "the Countess’s Tower is one of the most paranormally active areas in the castle, and is situated within the gardens which are said to be haunted by the Countess herself."

Other figures that have been seen around the location are believed to be the old game keeper, a distressed dairy maid, among other household staff.

Two years ago, a volunteer at the castle also attested to experiencing the paranormal.

"The handrail gave way to nothingness and I felt something propel me up the top three stairs," Jenny is quoted as saying.

"Seconds later, my colleague told me the butler died right there on that same staircase. I hadn’t told her what just happened!”

It is unclear at this point what rooms of the haunted castle will be used during the filming of the upcoming contest.

I'm A Celebrity bosses are also keeping tight lipped about the official lineup or what types of challenges they might be set to face.
