Electric fence kills farmer near Kancheepuram
CHENNAI: A farmer was electrocuted when he came in contact with an electric fence in a groundnut farm at Uthiramerur near Kancheepuram on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Gopi, 46, of Endathur.
Some villagers found Gopi lying unconscious near the farm and alerted the Uthiramerur police.
The police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.
Gopi is survived by his wife and a two-year-old daughter.

The police registered a case against the owner of the farm for his negligence.
A construction worker died in a similar way in Pattancherry village near Uthiramerur two days ago.
