K-Town celebrities raise their voice in support of #UnlockCinemaSaveJobs

For almost six months now, close to 10,000 cinema halls across the country have been forced to remain shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Theatre owners, who were hopeful of resuming operations in Unlock 4.0, made their displeasure known in no uncertain terms when that didn’t happen. Recently, the Multiplex Association of India appealed to the government yet again for allowing movie theatres to reopen with necessary SOPs, as the movie exhibition sector has already incurred losses amounting to nearly ₹9,000 crores in the last six months! Some prominent artistes and filmmakers across industries have lent their support to exhibitors and posted on their social media handles about the need to reopen theatres with hashtags like #UnlockCinemaSaveJobs, #SupportMovieTheatres and #SaveCinema.
