YORK, Maine — Enjoy the last of the beautiful weather, celebrate the arts and support local businesses in a safe and fun environment at the Open-Air Fall Arts Festival series at Ocean Fire Pottery, 23 Woodbridge Road.

Each weekend through October, local artists will be hosting workshops, giving demonstrations and selling their wares outdoors, and the community is invited to participate.

The festival starts this weekend, with leaf-printing workshops taught by York artist Kristy Cavaretta and York art teacher Sarah Boys. The workshops will be happening on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and people of all ages are encouraged to stop by and participate any time. Weather permitting, they’ll be making cyanotypes as well, which use sunlight to impart color on treated paper. All materials will be provided, and suggested donations will benefit the YCSA school lunch program.

Megan Stelzer of Stelzer Metalworks will be on hand Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, with her unique metal jewelry.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, Cape Neddick native and graphic artist Danielle Lehoux will be offering her block-print style prints, note cards, magnets and more, depicting birds and scenes of Maine. On Saturday, Oct. 17, BeeDandy of Sanford will offer natural, handmade lotions, scrubs, soaps and other body products.

Kids will be able to hand-build their own pottery to take home every day. Each weekend will be wrapped up at 5 p.m., with Serenity Sundays, a free 30-40 minute meditation and music compilation led by Maria Lovo of A Welcome Haven.

Hand sanitizer and gloves will be available, and masks are required for all activities.

More artists and activities are being added every day. To see the updated list, visit oceanfirepottery.com/upcoming-showsevents.
