YEREVAN. – Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan on Wednesday received the delegation led by Marianne Clark-Hattingh, UNICEF's Representative in Armenia, the Ministry of Environment informed.

Petrosyan stressed, in particular, the importance of the work being carried out to prevent climate change and environmental disasters and, in this context, the neutralization of their negative effect on children.

Clark-Hattingh, for her part, briefly presented the agenda of UNICEF programs being implemented in Armenia. In this regard, she specifically referred to the three-year Youth for Climate Action program, and then suggested considering the possibility of implementing child-related projects in the Climate Change Adaptation Program.

At the end of the meeting, Armenia’s Minister of Environment expressed readiness to deepen the cooperation with UNICEF.

And the UNICEF official, for her part, expressed the hope that by combining forces, it will be possible to achieve the set targets in the shortest possible time.
