Opinion/Letter: The more I learn the more I agree with Esther Kennedy

Sept. 24 -- To the Editor:

The more I learn about PopUpNH and its costlier than expected consequences to the Portsmouth taxpayer, the more it appears that Esther Kennedy is closer to being the heroine, rather than the villain, in this story. In addition to the PopUpNH's expenses paid for by the taxpayer and the loss of parking revenue the project caused, we have learned that, if it hadn't been for Esther Kennedy, the Portsmouth taxpayer would have funded a dozen out-of-town businesses which would have unfairly competed with Portsmouth businesses, potentially causing some of our own city's taxpaying businesses to suffer or to even go out of business entirely.

Ironically, if not for Councilor Kennedy, PopUpNH could have produced the opposite effect of its intended mission to help Portsmouth businesses to survive.
