A first year Delhi University student has been arrested for allegedly creating fake IDs, and stalking and harassing women on the social media, police said on Sunday. The accused has been identified as 23-year-old Mohammad Kafil, a resident of Mehrauli in south Delhi. Kafil works as a part-timer at his father’s shop. Police said that the accused used to borrow hotspots from random people on false pretexts or used others’ Wi-Fi to stalk and harass women. He also did not use his own internet to create the false IDs. During interrogation, Kafil confessed to the crime and said that he was fond of sending women obscene messages and created IDs under fake names for that purpose, said cops.
