Tamil Nadu: Four killed in a road accident in Ramanathapuram

MADURAI: Four persons, including three teenagers, were killed in an accident involving two bikes on the East Coast Road in Ramanathapuram district, on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at Naganenthal near Uppur.
Out of the five men, who were riding on two bikes, three of them died on the spot.
The fourth person died in the hospital and lone survivor is currently undergoing treatment.

The deceased have been identified as T Hariharan, 19, of Devakottai Kalasapuram and his fellow riders S Vallarasu, 19, and A Gowtham, 19, of Chennai and K Pandithurai, 32, of Karungudi, who were on a bike on the opposite direction.
Police said that Hariharan, Vallarasu and Pandithurai died on the spot while Gowtham died in the hospital without responding to treatment.
Pandithurai’s fellow rider K Udhayakumar, 37, of Athanur, who was severely injured was rushed to a hospital in Ramanathapuram and referred to Madurai for tertiary care.
Doctors said that the condition of Udhayakumar is critical.
Thirupalaikudi police registered a case under sections 304(A) (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of The Indian Penal Code.
