Emmerdale fans were thrilled tonight as Lydia got some good news from the hospital.

Lydia was convinced she had Huntington's disease, after experiencing symptoms for months and discovering she had a family history of it.

Tonight Lydia and Sam went to the hospital to hear the results of the test.

Lydia told the doctor: "It's ok, I've been having the symptoms, I've got it haven't I."

But the doctor said: "The test came back negative, we're quite sure, there's a counsellor in place for people who need to talk through, so if you need support that's there."

Lydia said she was "just relieved" it was over.

Sam asked if they could tell the family and celebrate and the doctor said that of course they could.

Sam's son Samson also returned from his school trip and they told him that Lydia's "brilliant" news.
