Week 4 NFL DFS Picks: Best value players, sleepers for DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy football lineups

Top-Week-4-DFS-Values-FTR

With three weeks of the 2020 NFL season in the books, many under-the-radar players have emerged as productive NFL DFS contributors on DraftKings and FanDuel. Picking sleepers and value picks at one position affords managers higher spending limits at the other skill positions, so doing your due diligence can really pay off ahead of each new week of football. We’re here to highlight some of our favorite daily fantasy football bargains for Week 4.

If you read this column last week, you would have benefited from our advice to plug in QBs Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff, RBs Miles Sanders and Jerick McKinnon, TE Mo Alie-Cox, and the Browns defense, among other high-value, under-the-radar plays. RotoQL constantly monitors DFS pricing, and provides the most up-to-date insight and analysis to maximize your lineup success.

NFL DFS Picks Week 4: QB sleepers, values

Gardner Minshew II, Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals (DK: $5,900 | FD: $7.400)

The mustachioed Minshew proved not ready for prime time last Thursday, falling to pieces against the ageless bearded wonder known as Ryan Fitzpatrick. Here’s betting that the 24-year-old gunslinger won’t let one tough outing fracture his confidence too much. With top Jags receiver DJ Chark (chest/back) on track to return to action and RB James Robinson continuing to contribute in all facets of the offense, it’s hard to stay away from potentially solid production in the $5,000-$6,000 range. As long as Chark gets the start, stash the ‘stache for the Jags-Bengals clash. If Chark remains sidelined, opt instead for Matthew Stafford at home against the Saints, or Ryan Fitzpatrick at home against the Seahawks.

Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills (DK: $5,300 | FD: $6,900)

Nestled way down below benched Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky on the DraftKings listings, Carr seems like an absolute steal at $5,300. Sure, he didn’t look great in the Raiders’ 36-20 collapse at the hands of the Patriots, but he also looked much better than anyone else you can get at this value. If Carr can throw for 261 yards and two touchdowns in New England, he can hit 300 and three scores at home against the high-flying Bills. Buffalo ranks 22nd against QBs, and oddsmakers have given the Raiders an implied point total of 25. Start the Carr!

Week 4 DraftKings, FanDuel Picks: RB sleepers, values

Darrell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants (DK: $5,800 | FD: $6,400)

Henderson has played well lately, leapfrogging Malcolm Brown on the Rams’ backfield pecking order. He tallied 81 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in LA’s Week 2 win over Philly (averaging 6.8 yards per rush), and added two catches for 40 yards. He then rushed 20 times for 114 yards and a score in a narrow 35-32 defeat in Buffalo. The Giants give up the 10-most fantasy points to running backs, and just gave up three rushing touchdowns to the 49ers in Week 3. Defending Henderson could get hairy for New York. (Any 80s kids in here to get that pun?)

Carlos Hyde, Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins (DK: $5,300 | FD: $5,700)

Seahawks starting RB Chris Carson, who has had a great start to the year, fell victim to a nasty gator roll by Cowboys DT Trysten Hill last weekend. Seattle fans were relieved to read that Carson’s ligaments are intact, but that he still might miss Week 4 with a knee sprain. If he does, Hyde serves as the next man up. Hyde has been effective in limited backup work and should see 15-20 carries and a handful of targets in Carson’s absence against the Dolphins. Miami allowed rookie Jaguars running back James Robinson to score on the ground twice last week while averaging 4.2 yards per carry and catching six passes for 83 yards. If Carson sits, don’t hide from Hyde.

JK Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens at Washington Football Team (DK: $4,800 | FD: $5,700)

Beyond reigning MVP Lamar Jackson, the Ravens have looked like a shell of their record-breaking 2019 rushing attack. Part of the reason has been veteran Mark Ingram, who has clearly lost a step in his 10th season. Ingram had 257 rushing yards and five touchdowns by Week 3 last year but only has 114 yards and a touchdown at the same point this season. Cue Dobbins, a 21-year-old bowling ball who looks like a young Devonta Freeman. Dobbins has averaged 7.6 yards per carry this season and caught all five of his targets for 51 yards. It’s a gut call, but look for the rookie to start getting more work this week in Baltimore’s meeting with the team formerly known as the Redskins in Washington. Browns running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt combined for 154 rushing yards against Washington last week, and Chubb scored twice on the ground while Hunt scored once through the air. Even if it’s in garbage time, J.K. should be LOLing at Washington’s mediocre defense Sunday.

FanDuel, DraftKings Picks Week 4: WR sleepers, values

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (DK: $6,100 | FD: $6,000)

Cincinnati rookie quarterback Joe Burrow has established an obvious rapport with Boyd, throwing more passes his way each week. The young duo connected on four-of-five targets in the Bengals’ Week 1 loss to the Chargers, then seven-of-eight for 72 yards and a touchdown in their Week 2 loss to the Browns. They really turned heads Sunday against the Eagles in Philly, hooking up on 10-of-13 passes for 125 yards. Boyd has racked up over 1,000 yards the past two seasons, and he should easily surpass that mark again this year. His 80.8-percent catch rate and 76.7 yards per game this season are both career bests, and his numbers improve with each game he and Burrow play together. The Jaguars defense looked shaky in their 31-13 loss to Miami on Thursday Night Football, so Burrow and Boyd should make some noise against them.

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans (DK: $5,200 | FD: $5,400)

The smooth rookie receiver from LSU has looked like one of the top offensive picks from the 2020 draft class. Jefferson broke out Sunday against the Titans, pulling in seven-of-nine targets for a whopping 175 yards and a touchdown. His route-running, body control, and soft-but-strong hands have helped him maintain an 80-percent catch rate and 20.4 yards per reception -- both very attractive numbers to fantasy owners and DFS players. The awful Vikings defense will likely force QB Kirk Cousins to throw the ball a lot to keep up with Deshaun Watson and the Texans, so Jefferson will be a great value pick in the low-to-mid $5,000 range.

WEEK 4 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker

Week 4 NFL DFS Picks: TE sleepers, values

Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills (DK: $5,200 | FD: $6,700)

This play stands as much more of a value on DraftKings, but really anything below $7,000 for Waller the Baller seems affordable. Buffalo has struggled against TEs this year, having allowed six receptions to the Jets Chris Herndon in Week 1 and eight catches for 153 yards and a touchdown to the Dolphins Mike Gesicki in Week 2. The aforementioned Derek Carr absolutely loves throwing to his favorite receiving tight end, and they will be looking to reconnect after the Patriots held Waller to two receptions for nine yards last Sunday. Stack Carr and Waller for double the pleasure and double the fun.

Jimmy Graham, Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts (DK: $3,800 | FD: $5,300)

The Bears got a spark when coach Matt Nagy benched Mitchell Trubisky for Nick Foles, and the veteran tight end Graham was the main benefactor. Graham jumped from one 18-yard catch on one target in Week 2 to six receptions for 60 yards on 10 targets in Week 2. Indy’s fantastic defense has been the cream of the crop against tight ends, but Foles loves incorporating his big targets in the middle of the field. By sliding a solid veteran with size and good hands into your TE slot for a mere $3,800, you will afford yourself more expensive options at the other skill positions.

Week 4 NFL DFS values: D/ST sleepers

Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns (DK: $3,300 | FD: $3,400)

Dallas presents the best value of the bargain-bin defenses, priced down thanks to two consecutive tough games against offensive juggernauts. The aerial attacks of the Falcons and the Seahawks were a lot for the injury-ravaged Cowboys, who have allowed opponents to average a team passer rating of 114.1 (second highest in the league) and 32.3 points per game (third worst). But Baker Mayfield is not even close to the level of Matt Ryan or Russell Wilson. If the ‘Boys can contain Cleveland’s two-headed running attack of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, they should put up some decent fantasy numbers at home. There’s only one way to go for this Dallas squad, and that’s up. Plug them in and hold your breath.
