7-year-old girl raped by neighbour in Azamgarh, undergoes surgery

VARANASI: A 7-year-old girl was raped by her 30-year-old neighbor Naushad in a village under the limits of Jiyanpur police station in Azamgarh district on Wednesday.
SP Azamgarh Sudhir Kumar Singh said that Naushad had been arrested by police while the girl was rushed to Banaras Hindu University hospital in Varanasi in view of the requirement of surgery to save her.
Mother of minor rape survivor said that Naushad, who runs tent house service and have a shop outside their village, was familiar to them due to being their neighbor and her daughter used to go to his place to play.She informed police that on Wednesday Naushad took the girl to his shop.
“After raping the girl Naushad came to my house to seek her other clothes mentioning that she was bathing at his house. However, when the girl returned home she was bleeding profusely. When I rushed my daughter to a government women’s hospital the doctors cleared that she had been raped,” alleged mother of minor rape survivor.
Singh said that after this matter came to light Jiyanpur police registered a case against Naushad and arrested him immediately. He said that doctors referred the girl to BHU hospital as she needed surgery by a pediatric surgeon, who is not available at GWH. He said that condition of girl was stable following surgery.
