CF Industries, a company that operates the world’s largest nitrogen fertilizer complex in Donaldsonville, is investing $41.4 million in its production and creating more than 30 new jobs.

The Illinois-based company plans to increase the concentration of its nitric acid at one of its plants, add an air chiller and install storage space for products, a news release said. New rail car and truck loading are also in the works.

CF Industries is expected to use the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program to offset costs, according to Louisiana Economic Development.

The project follows the company’s $2.1 billion expansion completed in 2016 that officials described as the largest single capital investment project in Ascension Parish history.
