Bihar: Two jailed, three evading arrest for gang-raping girl in Kaimur

PATNA: Two youths were forwarded to judicial custody on Friday for their alleged involvement in gang rape of 18 year old girl in Kaimur district.
Police said that the incident took place at a village under Chainpur police station area of the district on Thursday.
Police said an FIR was registered with Women’s police station on basis of victim’s written complaint against five youths.
Kaimur SP Dilnawaz Ahmed on Friday told TOI over phone that the victim’s medical examination was completed after constituting a medical board and its report was awaited.

Ahmed said that the victim, an adult, has actually alleged that only one youth had raped her while rest were at the spot.
“Two youths were arrested immediately after the incident while three more are presently evading arrest for their involvement in the incident. Looking at the sensitivity, all necessary action are being taken by police. Girl’s statement had been video recorded too,” he said.
SP Ahmed said that police had also come to know that the accused youths had altercation too with the victim on Wednesday.

“Police is probing the incident from angle of altercation incident as well as from the possibility of love affair too,” he adding intensive raids were going on to arrest the three accused who were evading arrest.
Meanwhile, Women’s police station SHO Sudhanshu Shekhar said that arrested youths were identified as Ajeet Kumar (18) and Chotu Yadav (26).
“Chattu Yadav. Pramod Yadav and Dhananjay Yadav are the accused youths who are still evading arrest,” he said adding all five accused are natives of Madurni village under Chainpur police station area.
Shekhar, quoting victim’s FIR, said she has alleged that it was Dhananjay who had raped her while two others kept holding her hands for the time. “Rest of the three accused youths were also present at spot,” he said.
SHO said FIR in the case was registered under Sections 323, 341, 504, 376G and 34 of Indian Penal Code.
“The girl has mentioned in the FIR that she had went in the fields on outskirts of her village with two more female friends for cutting grass when the five accused reach at spot. The youths forced rest two girls to flee from spot after which the victim was raped,” he said.
He said the two girls returned village and raised alarm after which several villagers rushed to the spot and nabbed Ajeet and Chotu after which police was informed too.
