Bihar: Man arrested for raping 6-year-old niece in Lakhisarai

PATNA: Police on Saturday evening arrested a man for allegedly raping his 6-year-old niece inside his shop located under Piri Bazaar police station area in Lakhisarai.
Police said accused was identified was Manoj Yadav, aged around 26 year who runs a cellphone shop under Piri Bazaar police station area.
The matter came to light before police on late Friday night when the victim’s family approached police.

Police said the victim’s statement was finally recorded on Saturday morning following which an FIR was lodged with women’s police station in the district.
Piri Bazaar police station SHO Prajesh Kumar Dubey on Saturday told TOI over phone that the incident took place on September 30 but parents didn’t had any inkling about their daughter being raped.
“She was sent by her parents to get a SIM card recharged from Manoj’s shop located nearby residence when he had raped her inside the shop only,” he said adding the accused was arrested on Saturday evening.
“The girl was bleeding from her private parts when she returned home on Wednesday. When asked, she told parents that she had fell down while playing out of fear and threatening by accused who is her uncle. ,” he said.

Dubey said that the girl afterwards fell ill and even her bleeding didn’t stopped.
“It was then they took her to doctor in Lakhisarai and further to a hospital in Munger. It was after examination by a gynaecologist that it surfaced she had been raped which has caused injury to her private parts resulting bleeding,” he said.
SHO said the family later brought her to Lakhisarai on Friday night after which she was admitted to sadar hospital for treatment and police was contacted too.
Meanwhile, women’s police station SHO Rita Kumari said the accused had dragged her inside his shop after he raped the victim.
“The girl is presently undergoing treatment at sadar hospital in Lakhisarai and her condition is stable,” she added.
