Two accused in case filed for raping ninth-grader in Gopalganj
A case was filed with Kotalipara Police Station today against two people on charge of raping a ninth-grader from Pinjuri union in Gopalganj's Kotalipara upazila.
The accused are, Ali Hossain (22), and Masud Hawladar (23), of Purnaborti village under the upazila. Ali Hossain is a student of a private university in Dhaka.
The victim's father filed the case under Woman and Children Repression Prevention Act against the two around 3:00pm today, said Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, officer in-charge of Kotalipara Police Station.
Ali Hossain and Masud Hawladar allegedly picked up the victim while she was returning home from tuition classes on Saturday evening, and took her to a deserted place where they took turns raping her. They also beat her up. Accused Masud also recorded the scene on his mobile phone, the OC said citing the case statement.
The accused let the victim go after they threatened to release the video on social media if she mentioned the incident to anyone, according to the case statement.
The victim's father said, "After returning home, my daughter told us the matter. She also fell ill. So, we called a local doctor for her primary treatment. Later we went to the police station to file the case. We demand punishment of those behind this heinous offence."
"We are trying to arrest the two accused. The victim will be sent to Gopalganj General Hospital for medical treatment tomorrow morning," OC Lutfar Rahman added.
