Nallampalayam murder case: Coimbatore district police arrest prime accused
COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore district police on Sunday arrested the prime accused in the murder of a 27-year-old man at Nallampalayam near Thudiyalur.
The arrested accused has been identified as S Anwar Basha, 42, of Nallampalayam.
Police had earlier arrested K Karthi alias Military Mani, 25, and P Pandy alias Pandiyarajan, 32, residents of Kovilmedu in connection with the case.

According to a police officer, Anwar and S Kannan, 30, of Sanganoor were friends and started idly batter business separately. Anwar sold his batter at a lower price to Kannan’s customers, and the latter was upset over this.
On September 27, Kannan along with his friends -- Nagaraj, Shanmugam and Karuppasamy – visited Anwar at his house and asked him not to interfere in his business. Anwar asked all of them to visit him the following morning to speak about the issue.
When the friends went to his house the following day, Anwar, along with a few others including Karthi and Pandy, started attacking Kannan and the gang.
“While others managed to escape, the gang assaulted Nagaraj with a sickle. He sustained injuries on his neck and check,” a police officer said.
Nagaraj was taken to a private hospital for first aid and then admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where he died on Saturday.
The accused was produced before the judicial magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
