It’s now or never for the Lincoln Rewa football side when they take on Labasa in the second semifinal of the 2020 Courts IDC tournament at the ANZ Stadium, Suva  5pm today.

After being put to the test in their three pool games, the Delta Tigers will have to be at their best against the Babasiga Lions.

Speaking to SUNsports, Coach Marika Rodu said the team’s character would put to the test today.

“It is time to pull our socks up against a very good team like Labasa because we have been tested hard enough from the first day of the competition against Lautoka, Suva and Nasinu. So we should be ready for this game,” he said.

“I reminded our captain Bruce Hughes and the team that we only have 45 minutes to make it to the final or pack our bags and go home.

“Whoever is selected to play to in the semifinal today is to follow the game plan.

“It’s good to be in the semifinals after a very disappointing first day of competition.

“It was a turning point for the team and it was a wake-up call for everybody.

“We had to change things around because we played two tough games before Nasinu. The players were fatigued and exhausted.

“The level of recovery was not 100 per cent and it was the right call to use six of our new players on Thursday.

“We will be a recharged team today, we have to change the way we approach this game against Labasa.

“In all three games, we were made to fight harder to remain in the competition.

“It shows the character in the boys and the team that manages the semifinal well will n win the game.”
