Lincoln Refrigeration Rewa will not be an easy side to beat, says Labasa coach Ronil Lal.

Despite going down to Navua, Labasa topped their pool after beating Nadi, 4 -0, and Ba, 2-1.

SSS Building (NZ) Labasa will meet the Delta Tigers in the second semifinal of the Courts IDC today at 5pm.

“The semifinal will be different game because the Rewa side is unpredictable,” Lal said.

“We have played them in the Vodafone Premier League, they won’t be easy.

“We have a few injuries that are manageable, but no major ones.”

He applauded his side for a brilliant display during the pool games.

“We started off well, I think so that was our game plan,” Lal said.

“We managed to get two quick goals against Ba. They came back strongly strengthening their play in midfield but we held them.

“They gave us no chance after our loss in the first day but I congratulate the boys for not giving up.”

Lal has also rated veteran Taniela Waqa as one of his best players.

Waqa, who got injured in the game against Nadi, came back strongly and scored a goal in their match against Ba.

“He is a fighter. At that age, plenty people do not think about coming to the ground but he is still there fighting,” Lal said.

“He is a very good leader for us and he is an inspiration to the younger players.

“Having him on the side is a big advantage for us.”

Meanwhile, Ba will face Lautoka in the semifinal and Ba coach, Ronil Kumar said there would be a few changes to his side.

“I believe in the boys that they can do the job, we will have about two or three changes,” he said.

“And we will have to work hard on our finishing area.”

The semifinal will be at the ANZ Stadium today.
