HYDERABAD: The MLC election for the Nizamabad local bodies constituency was held on Friday with 821 out of 824 voters exercising their franchise. During the last hour of the poll, from 4pm to 5pm, as many as 14 Covid positive voters in PPE kits were brought to the polling stations in ambulances to enable them exercise their franchise. Counting will be taken up on October 12.
The voting was peaceful and no untoward incident was reported from any of the 50 polling stations.
The ruling TRS party ferried its voters in a bus to the polling stations.
Adhering to Covid guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission of India, the voters wore masks and gloves and used sanitisers at the polling stations.
