Three killed, several injured on Yamuna Expressway in Aligarh

Three persons were dead and five sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in overturned in the Tappal area of Aligarh district, police said on Saturday.

ALIGARH: A 26-year-old Delhi resident Imran among three killed and seveal others suffered injuries after the bus they were travelling in hit a divider and turned turtle on Yamuna Expressway near milestone 56 in UP's Aligarh on Saturday morning.
The bus was heading to Delhi from Kanpur. According to police, the identities of the other two deceased are yet not known.

However, the identity of the person who lost his leg was not known till the filing of this report.

Three of the injured persons were referred to Delhi after two of them had lost their arms and one his leg.
Those whose arms were amputated in the mishap were identified as Ajmul Ansari (28), a resident of Raibareli, and Anshu Singh (28) from Kanpur.
Talking to TOI, Aligarh SP (Rural) Subham Patel said that the bus was running at high speed and possibly the driver fell asleep. The mishap took place around 6 am under Tappal police station jurisdiction. He added that those who were sitting on the left side of the bus were critically injured as the bus turned on the left side after hitting the divider.
