Noida Authority’s tractor coming from wrong side crushes 14-year-old

A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death and his 16-year-old friend suffered critical injuries when a tractor-trolley of the Noida Authority, which was being driven on the wrong side, hit their scooter. The accident took place around 12.30pm on Saturday on the service road between Parthala and Gaur City.

NOIDA: A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death and his 16-year-old friend suffered critical injuries when a tractor-trolley of the Noida Authority, which was being driven on the wrong side, hit their scooter. The accident took place around 12.30pm on Saturday on the service road between Parthala and Gaur City.
Police said the tractor was carrying garbage and belonged to a contractor engaged by the Noida Authority.
The cops are finding out if the driver had a valid licence to drive a tractor.

Jitendra Dikshit, the SHO of Phase III police station, said Milnan (14) and Atul (16) were waiting for a friend on their scooter when the tractor hit them. “The teenagers had just returned from the cricket stadium after a game and had been waiting for a friend on their scooter. The tractor-trolley was hurtling down the wrong side of the service and crashed into the two-wheeler,” he added.
Though Milnan was wearing a helmet, his head was crushed under the front tyre. “The helmet broke under the heavy weight of the tractor and the boy suffered a serious head injury. Milnan died on the spot while his friend Atul suffered minor injuries to his limbs,” the officer said.
An FIR has been lodged against the tractor driver under IPC sections 304A (death due to negligence) and 279 (rash driving). The cops have also taken note of the fact that both riders on the scooter were minors.

In another accident, a 30-year-old biker died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle on the road towards Sector 41 area around 11pm on Friday. The man, who was riding a Splendor, was found dead on the road by an auto-rickshaw driver. He took the biker to Prayag hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
A team from Sector 39 police station received information about the accident from the hospital. The man was identified as Arvind, a resident of Barola Sector 49.
Azad Singh Tomar, the SHO of Sector 39 police station, said the man’s family had been informed and an FIR lodged against the vehicle driver under IPC sections 304 A (death due to negligence) and 279 (rash driving).
