PATNA: In a horrific incident, a Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven persons after they throttled her five-year-old son to death at a village under Murar police station area in Buxar on Saturday.
Murar police station SHO Manoj Kumar Pathak said that the incident came to light on Sunday after the survivor’s father approached police and lodged FIR. He said the survivor is around 28-year-old.
The SHO said that the woman's father lodged an FIR against two identified and five unidentified persons in connection with the incident.

"As per FIR, the woman along with her son had gone to a bank for some work on Saturday but did not return afterwards," he said.
He said after looking for the mother-son duo, the family finally located her near a pond in the village at around 3am on Sunday. “The minor son’s body was found from the pond,” Pathak said.
The SHO said that the woman’s father had alleged that she was raped by seven persons and they had also throttled the minor to death in front of his daughter’s eyes.
Pathak said the woman's father told police that he lodged an FIR on basis of whatever incident his daughter had narrated while being taken to hospital.

He said the survivor is presently under treatment at Sadar hospital and her condition was stable.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh one of the named accused Meena Ram (50) has been arrested.
Singh said Bhola Ram is another named accused who is evading arrest. SP said raids were on to nab all culprits.
The SP said survivor’s medical examination was conducted by a board of doctors and its report is waited.
“Things would become clear once medical report is received. Her statement before judicial magistrate would also be crucial. It would be recorded on Monday,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dumraon SDPO Krishna Kumar Singh said that initially, the woman’s father told police that he had some enmity with accused Meena but later denied.
He said accused persons and survivor belong to same community and village.
Singh said the woman is in shock at present and is unable to speak properly.
The SDPO said that entire incident would become clear she narrates everything before police or before judicial magistrate.
He said the woman was not in a good relationship with her husband since last one-and-a-half-year due to which she was living with her parents.
“Incidentally, the husband had reached her residence just two days back and was living at his in-laws house in an effort to take her back,” SDPO said.
