Patna: Minor girl gang-raped in Danapur, three held, one evading arrest

PATNA: Police on Sunday arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in gang-rape of a minor girl inside a four-wheeler repairing garage at Lekhanagar under Danapur police station area in western Patna.
Danapur police station SHO Ajeet Kumar Saha said the victim belongs to extremely backward class community and is aged around 14 years. He said she is native of a village under Bihiya police station area in Bhojpur.

Saha said incident took place on Saturday and police got information about it at around 10.15pm.
The SHO said arrested persons were identified as Rajesh Kumar (34), Tulsi Kumar (28) and Dharmendra Kumar (27). He said Rajesh is resident of Naya Tola, Tulsi and Dharmendra hail from Ashopur, all under Danapur police station area.
“One accused is still evading arrest and raids were on to nab him,” he said adding the all three were arrested by 7am till Sunday.
SHO quoting the FIR lodged by victim, said Rajesh and the accused who is yet to be nabbed, had actually raped her inside garage.
“Tulsi and Dharmendra kept standing as guards outside garage to keep an eye on surrounding,” he said.
SHO said victim actually worked as a maid at a house in Ashiana Nagar but left it on Saturday after some dispute.

“She went to Danapur railway station in an attempt to reach Bihiya but Rajesh and the other accused spotted her. They misguided victim saying that she can have food and stay with them and they would inform her family to take her back,” SHO said.
Saha said the duo brought her to the garage in an auto-rickshaw from station and gang-raped her.
“Some locals spotted the victim in pitiable and disillusioned condition at Lekhanagar after which they informed police. Victim narrated her ordeal after a police team reached at spot,” he said.
SHO said forensic experts were also roped in on Sunday who examined the spot for helping in investigation.
He said garage was on ground floor of private residence of one Subhodh Singh and he not even kept any detail about Dhamendra whom he had rented the place.
He said Dharmendra also used the garage for storing items for a general store which he runs in same area. He said arrested accused Rajesh and Tulsi are auto-rickshaw drivers by profession.
Saha said victim’s medical examination was going on and her statement before judicial magistrate would be recorded on Monday. He said victim’s family members in Bhojpur were also informed.
This is second gang rape incident which surfaced before Patna police in 24 hours. Earlier, a gang rape case of a scheduled caste minor girl had surfaced before police at Fatuha in rural Patna on Friday night in which four were arrested but one was evading arrest.
