11 new Covid cases in Yavatmal, collector quarantined

YAVATMAL: On a day when the district saw sharp decline in new Covid cases after detection of 11 patients on Monday, collector MD Singh has been quarantined after he developed symptoms of Covid-19 infection. While 37 patients recovered in the day, one Covid death was reported from the city.
The deceased was 82-year-old man from the city. There are now 543 patients under treatment.
According to ZP health department sources, 9,100 patients have been reported in the district so far of whom 8,174 have recovered.
Singh’s swab samples have been sent to lab for RT-PCR test and the report is awaited.
In a press release, the collector informed that he experienced tiredness and other symptoms from Sunday night and hence he would remain at home for some days and would not attend office from Monday.
