Fraudsters target Nilgiris collector

Udhagamandalam: Police have cast net to nab the miscreants, who are using a fake email ID for impersonating Nilgiris collector J Innocent Divya.
“A fake email from ‘Innocent Divya, IAS’ sent to a district official’s ID on Saturday sought four gift vouchers of 5,000 each. I was alerted by an official,” Divya said. “I asked the official to keep the thread active to trace the IP number.Since it was a weekend, we couldn’t verify with other officials.”
“It was a spam mail. A complaint has been registered with the police and an investigation is under way. We have asked officials not open the mail if they have received one,” she added.
