    Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported 4666 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the total tally up to 6,65,930. The number of active cases stands at 43,239.

    The death toll in the state touched 10,371, with 57 more deaths being reported, the State media bulletin confirmed.

    Tamil Nadu’s capital has been the worst affected district in the state and had 1164 cases being reported on Thursday. The city has seen 184,429 people being infected so far.

    Neighbouring Chengalpattu has the second-highest tally of cases with 39,870 people having been infected till date, followed by Coimbatore with 37,919 cases in all.

    As many as 5117 people recovered from the infection on Tuesday, and the total recoveries now stand at 612,320.

    The state reported 83,803 tests on Tuesday and has 191 testing facilities, of which 66 are government-run.
