A convenience store clerk was hospitalized after being shot during an armed robbery in Lawrence on Wednesday morning, police said.
The man was shot once during an altercation at Adoni Solutions on Lawrence Street after two masked men, one of whom had a gun, entered the multi-service store at about 9:46 a.m. Wednesday.
The store clerk was treated on scene by paramedics and emergency medical technicians from Lawrence General Hospital and was subsequently transported there by ambulance.
“He is conscious and alert and his injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this time,” Lawrence police wrote in a statement on the department’s Facebook page.
Lawrence police detectives are “currently following up on several promising leads,” department spokesman Det. Thomas Cuddy said in a statement.
