NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date of fee payment and submission of the list of candidates of classes X and XII from October 15 to October 31. The move follows reports of many parents finding it difficult to pay the fees in the wake of Covid-19.
In its letter to the principals and heads of institutions, CBSE said the exams were a time-bound process and could start only when the list had been completed by the schools.
But “from various sources it has come to the notice of CBSE that schools and parents are facing problems in completing the list because of the situation created due to Covid-19”, CBSE said, extending the deadline.
CBSE has urged the schools in India and abroad to complete the process within the new deadline as “dates will not be further extended”.
The board sent a separate letter extending the dates for registration of students of classes IX and XI, stating that the “preparation of board examination starts a year in advance with the process of registration of students”. With guardians facing similar issues, CBSE has extended this registration date from November 4 to November 19.
