LUCKNOW: A 21-year-old man identified as Rakesh Kumar hacked his sister-in-law Laxmi Devi (32) to death in Kernalganj police station of Gonda district.
Police said that preliminary investigations have revealed that Rakesh was forcing for a relationship in the absence of her husband. Following which an argument took place between the two on Thursday, and in fit of rage Rakesh took out a machete and hacked Laxmi to death.
Later, he reached Bhabua police out-post under Kernalganj police station to surrender.
SHO, Kernalganj, Maneesh said that Rakesh was arrested immediately while the murder weapon was also seized for evidence. “The body of Laxmi has been sent for a post-mortem while a written complaint against Rakesh was being given by father-in-law of Laxmi to the police,” said Maneesh.
